CREATIVE AND CONSCIOUS PARENTHOOD

People still talk too little about that extremely important phase which unrolls itself in mother’s womb: our first nine months of life. Pregnancy, i.e. those months during which the baby forms itself and becomes a person, put the basis for the adult person it will become. Parents can do very much during that period for helping their baby to become a serene and happy person. Still, too often, for lack of information, having no guide, the parents, abandoned to themselves during the nine months of pregnancy, do not practice those attitudes, those attention which could be so helpful non only for the bayb, but also for their “being parents”.

At the Eliotropio, Seat of the ANEP Milano-Section, we are in position to supply this precious help to the parents through an appropriate serial of meetings or also, in particular cases of geographic distance, through Internet.

Pregnancy, period during which the mother is setting out to discover herself and her baby, with father’s help !

Dear Parents, we suggest to you to follow a course which will help you to consider the preparation to child birth not as a simple learning how to face delivery’s pain, but as the discovery of life’s values. You will learn to live the intensity of pregnancy in all its phases, to understand the intensity of birth, to consider your baby to be born already as a person, even if, for the time being, it is entirely depending on you. In that way you will cultivate your own consciousness.

Prenatal education is not only a preparation to child birth, but an accompanying of parents during a privileged period of their union. The delivery is rich of intense emotions and it must be prepared for being lived in all its values, still being it only e passage from before to after. Pregnancy, on the contrary, is a phenomena which, during nine months, involves the affectivity of the future parents, that means the world of their feelings, of their emotions, of their love that keeps them bound together. The way they live this experience will reflect itself on the development of baby’s physical and psychical life before birth, influence which will continue during it’s whole existence. This experience is impossible to be repeated, since it is unique each time it presents itself.

To you, mother, we will talk about the delivery : in the deepest part of yourself, you know already how to do it. We will only help you to trust in yourself, not allowing other persons to intervene in the moment you will have to cooperate with your baby helping it in the hard effort it has to do for being birth. We will explain to you exactly how the delivery unrolls itself, the nature of the physical pain and how to face it. We will talk to you about the hospitals and bring clarity to any doubt you may have.

To you, Father, we will teach how to make acquaintance with your baby, how to dialogue and to play with it, even before seeing it. We will teach you how to massage your partner in order to relieve her physical tiredness. We will help you to understand what you can do for sharing her problems. That way you will become an essential part of the équipe formed by you three during the whole gestation.

Settled appointment : every Wednesday, from 7 to 10 p.m.

For 3 hours we will be together for practicing one or several of the following activities:

Basic activities

Perception and body’s preparation through yoga.
• To learn to breath
• To learn relaxation and concentration

• Visualization and projection of perceptions through drawings or working with clay.
• Dance, music and singing
• Dream’s analysis

We will talk about your baby :

• How are developing his physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies during the 9 month’s pregnancy.
• How to communicate and play with your baby in mother’s womb
• How to stimulate its learning capacities.

We will talk about you, Mother :

• How to live your pregnancy
• How to nourish yourself
• How to dress yourself
• How to organize your life in family’s circle.
• How to cultivate social relations before and after delivery.

Connected activities :

• You will have the opportunity to learn shiatsu massage and self-massage, with easy techniques to teach to the Father

• You will learn for what Bach flowers can be used,
• You will learn to relax yourself with the ikebana practice,
• You will experience listening and emitting sounds for being able to communicating with your baby before and after birth.

At the right moment we will talk about your baby after birth ::

• How to breast feed it,
• How to massage it
• How to act for his education

After the birth of your baby, you will have the possibility to participate to periodical meetings with parents and their babies at the Eliotropio. You will be able to share experiences, to give and receive advises and helps from persons who have shared with you, even if in different times, the deep experience of creative and conscious maternity and paternity.
