Many future mothers have access to Internet and, during pregnancy, put some questions to know if, not far from their home, there is an organization for the preparation to child-birth. Hospitals generally organize some courses, but only starting from the seventh or eighth month, and not always it is possible to join due to the limited number of places. While the future mother needs to have somebody ready to listen to her and at the same time in position to give with competence a reply to their questions, which are always numerous from the moment they know to be pregnant

ANEP is able to give in the best of ways this type of assistance. As a matter of fact, in the main cities it is possible to follow courses in the various Sections. Unfortunately in the smaller towns there are no ANEP-Sections, but there is for sure Internet. Free service for prenatal assistance through E-mail.
An ANEP-Section on line is ready to reach from Milano the whole world

This activity has started by chance. On the ANEP-site there is the possibility to put some questions to specialists, and I belong to the group of the experts who reply.
Not long ago, a very young woman of a small village of the Puglia Region applied to us exposing her problems: she was pregnant since two months, and did not know yet if the father would be ready to marry her, Her parents were very angry and she, alone and distressed, in spite of the situation, wanted absolutely to keep her baby.
She asked for help, but what can be done from so far away ? The first thing to do was to reassure her in order to reassure also the child. My reply was in that sense, hoping the message could be accepted. The young woman wrote to me again for thanking and for asking if I could teach her some relaxation exercises. From that moment our E-mail-connection lasted 7 months.

Finally she had a natural delivery, absolutely normal, and gave birth to a strong and serene little boy, for the joy of the grand-parents. The young father did not abandon her; indeed they married….the courage of that young woman and the love for her baby won against all difficulties. She only needed to relay on somebody.

In the meantime more mother scame along who also had no possibility to follow courses. They also had problems. With Bianca’s cooperation (Bianca Buchal, one of the specialists who reply on line), I succeeded to “accompany” these future mothers during their pregnancy. Bianca’s task is to give courage to these young women explaining them all about the strong connection which establishes itself from the very beginning between mother, father and baby, while I teach all I would have tought during the meetings in our Section of Milano, Via dei Tulipani,19. 

Thanks to these experiences, we have realized that it is possible to explain via correspondence non only the physical exercises from the first months of pregnancy, but also how to communicate with the baby during the nine months of intrauterine life.

I is not necessary to be hundreds of Kilometers far away from Milano for taking advantage is this way of assistance. In fact, lately a mother who came to Milano for assisting to the course of prenatal education at the Eliotropio, had to stop coming due to the distance (one hours journey from her home). So we have decided to start the course through correspondence.

Certainly, this is a voluntary service, not paid and time taking…even if I don’t have much time at my disposal; still I think it is worth to give some help to those mothers who ask for it, since, even through correspondence, we can give a contribution to better the quality of life for pregnant women, involve the father and bring the parents to be aware of their important task: to give life to a new creature and to love and respect it already before birthr
